Growing up family friends with Mike Ory and spending countless hours on the bike training with Jason, Matthew Block and I realized we had a great opportunity to continue and further the fundraising efforts of Jason on behalf of Mike and TeamOry.  We were both registered and training for Ironman Florida on November 7, 2015, the same race type and distance (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile marathon) as Jason, and wanted to give our efforts a greater purpose.

 

At a congratulatory party thrown for Jason following his completion of Ironman Louisville, Matthew and I expressed to Mike that we would also like to raise money on his behalf.  And not surprisingly, I was listening to a familiar selfless reply of “Mark, I think that would be great if y’all want to raise money as well, but just know that I’ll be giving to someone who needs it more than me.”

 

As scheduled in November, Matthew and I completed our 140.6 mile race on behalf of TeamOry. And again, we were all humbled by your support as you tracked our progress and pledged your donations to TeamOry.
